CRAWFORD COUNTY, Ga. — Roberta’s police chief says a Crawford County high student will be charged with jumping on an assistant principal and knocking him down.
Chief Ty Matthews says it happened Thursday in a hallway at the Crawford County Middle High School.
He said the student, a 15-year-old boy, was ‘having some issues’ and took it out on the school official.
Matthews said “I guess he was just having a bad day… and it got out of hand.”
He said the assistant principal was shaken up, but not injured. Others jumped in to break up the pair.
He did not name the older man, but the school’s website lists Kenneth Lanier as assistant principal.
The boy’s name has not been released because he is a juvenile.
No one else was involved or injured, the chief said.
Matthews says he expects the student will be charged with assault and disrupting a school.
The Crawford school district declined comment and referred questions to police.
