Cortnee Vine made history earlier this year for the winning penalty goal that took the Matildas to the semi-finals against England, the furthest the team had ever been.
But it was her time at Sydney FC that changed her life behind the scenes.
When Vine made the move down to New South Wales, she met her now-partner Charlotte Mclean, and the two have been sharing loved-up snaps ever since.

November 2018: The duo shared their first image together on Instagram, which Vine captioned, “Presentation night 2018 💛💙 #uptheuni.”
At the time, it was widely assumed Vine and Mclean were just friends.

January 2019: The two hard launched their relationship with another post to Vine’s Instagram.
“Laneway wit my #1 💛,” she wrote, with a coment below from Mclean saying, “Hehehe aw I love youu 💛💛.” Vine adorably responded, “I love you more 💛.”

A-list couple makes rare appearance following split
Over the next few months the two continued to post images of each other on Instagram, with some adorable loved up exchanges in the comments.
“I look bad but you look good so it’s okay,” Charlotte commented on one of Cortnee’s posts.
“U always look gooooood,” responded Cortnee.

March 2019: Vine again took to Instagram to share her adoration for her partner with a heartwarming tribute to her partner.
“Appreciation post to my human 💛,” she wrote.
“Char, thank you for bringing nothing but joy into my life. You’ve made my life better and continue to make it better each and everyday.
“Thank you for always sticking by me and being there for me whenever I need you, thank you for making me laugh, thank you for making me smile, thank you for having endless conversations with me, thank you for always being down for a boogie, anytime, anywhere.
“Thank you for simply being you. You make me very happy and I can’t imagine my life without you 💛 I love you, I can’t wait to make lots more memories with you just like this one xx
“I know this is a random post, but you deserve to be appreciated char. You’re a blessing x”
“COURNTEE VINE,” Mclean commented. “STOP IT YOU’RE TOO MUCH. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH 💛💛.”
July 2019: Vine and Mclean made their red carpet debut at an event for GQ, marking the couple’s first official outing together.

August 2020: Courtnee moved from the Western Sydney Wanderers to Sydney FC, and the two begun sharing a dressing room.
March 2023: In an interview with Optus Sport, Vine revealed she has been living with Mclean and her family, which she said had made it easier being away from her own family having not seen them for more than 12 months.
She also shared that the duo never felt as though they needed to ‘come out’, figuring the whole concept was pretty outdated.
“We kind of looked at it like we shouldn’t have to do that, like why do we have to ‘announce’ that we’re together, and sit down with the parents and all that stuff?” she said.
“We didn’t do any of that, which was cool, and I think it was the best way for us to approach it. It helps obviously that we’ve got families that are very accepting.
“I found it hard initially to kind of be accepting of that of myself, and be like, ‘I’m with a girl’, because beforehand we both dated guys, and it just kind of happened.
“But then I just said (to family), ‘I’m dating Charlotte’ and everyone was like, ‘Yep, that’s cool’. It was never a big thing, and our friends were like, ‘Yeah, we thought you were dating’.
“So it’s something that’s becoming a bit more normal, which is how it should be.”
June 2023: Mclean posted a series of photos to her Instagram of herself looking stunning in a bright yellow set.
Vine took to the comments to cause a stir amongst fans of the couple, saying, “Wifeeeee 💍💍,” to which Charlotte responded, “@cortneevine yes sirrr ! 🥰😇.”
