New hardcover editions from Dark Horse Comics reprinting the beloved Canto series will continue with Canto Volume 3: Tales of The Unnamed World and Canto Volume 4: Lionhearted. For volume 3, series co-creators David M. Booher, (Killer Queens) Drew Zucker, (The House) and colorist Vittorio Astone, (Heist) are joined by Sebastián Píriz (Heavy Metal), Liana Kangas, Jorge Corona, and Shawn Daley, with letters by Andworld Design, for a swashbuckling chapter of Canto’s “striking modern fairy tale.” (Newsarama) Continue the series, and prepare for much more to come when Canto Volumes 3 and 4 come to stores in 2024.
Bridging the story between The Hollow Men and Lionhearted, Canto Volume 3 collects Canto and the City of Giants and both issues of Canto: Tales of the Unnamed World. Canto Volume 3: Tales of The Unnamed World finds Canto, still on the mend following his first confrontation with the Shrouded Man, searching for allies to stand by his side in their inevitable final battle. And what better allies could one ask for than the fearsome Giants? But to earn their allegiance, he’ll need to solve the Labyrinth outside their city and slay the monster that lurks at its heart! Then, Canto and his friends must cross a bridge guarded by a mysterious bard. The price to pass? A story never heard in all the world!
Then, in Canto Volume 4: Lionhearted, after making the ultimate sacrifice, Canto bears a weapon that could defeat the Shrouded Man and free all the inhabitants of the Unnamed World. He races to find the hidden settlement of his former slavers to enlist them as allies in the coming war. That is, if the Shrouded Man doesn’t find them first.
Canto Volume 3: Tales of the Unnamed World (Canto and the City of Giants), spanning 144 pages and measuring 6.625″ x 10.1875″, arrives in a hardcover edition with extra sketches and in process pieces in bookstores on July 30, 2024 and comic shops July 31, 2024. Canto Volume 4: Lionhearted, spanning 160 pages and measuring 6.625″ x 10.1875″, arrives with a flurry of behind the scenes extras in a hardcover edition in bookstores on August 27, 2024 and comic shops August 28, 2024. About the Creators:
DAVID M. BOOHER is a multiple Eisner and GLAAD Media Award-nominated writer of comics, television, and film. His most recent comics work includes Eisner- and GLAAD Media Award-nominated KILLER QUEENS (Dark Horse), Eisner-nominated RAIN (Image/Syzygy), CANTO (IDW), SPECS (Boom! Studios), ALL NEW FIREFLY (Boom! Studios), and DUNGEONS & DRAGONS: SATURDAY MORNING ADVENTURES (IDW). His all-ages fantasy series CANTO is in development as a feature film, which he is set to adapt.
