Cobra Kai Season 6 – Part 2 Review: The Final Season Delivers Some Of The Best Episodes Of The Show Yet

The heat is turned all the way up in Cobra Kai season 6, part 2. After a steady-paced opening in part 1, the next five episodes of the show’s final season are non-stop action and intensity from the start. As Miyagi-Do dojo settles into the Sekai Taikai tournament in Barcelona, they get a taste of what it’s really like to compete on the world stage.

Cobra Kai season 6 has largely focused on the Miyagi-Do dojo, as both Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence joined forces to train as one larger group. With the opportunity to participate at the Sekai Taikai tournament, the stakes have never been higher for everyone involved. Part 2 particularly focuses on the actual tournament and the relationships between all those participating in the event.

Tensions Run High Between Miyagi-Do & Cobra Kai

At the end of part 1, Miyagi-Do arrives in Barcelona for the Sekai Taikai, and they are stunned to see Kreese with a new Cobra Kai team and Tori, their former ally, with Kreese. Part 2 digs deeper into the conflicts between the dojos, the coaches, but also the struggles between close friends such as Demetri and Hawk. However, while Daniel and Johnny’s bad blood has been repeatedly at the center of events in Cobra Kai, there is a distinct shift to focus more on the kids instead.

This shift was sorely needed to make this final season stand out, and after part 1 set the stage for some bitter rivalries and epic challenges, part 2 delivered. These episodes feature some of the best action of Cobra Kai’s entire run. But on top of that, it sees the younger actors share the spotlight, delivering some of the most compelling and emotional beats of the series. And the balance between these conflicts in the competition and outside the official fights is perfect.

Throughout these five episodes, there is never a dull moment, but they don’t feel overstuffed either. There are highs and lows, with emotional character interactions, but these are offset by high-intensity karate matches that are incredibly gripping and entertaining. There are also plenty of new characters as Miyagi-Do meets the competition, and the presence of world-class athletes creates plenty of opportunities for the familiar cast to re-examine their competency and skill.

Cobra Kai Is Handling The Final Season Like An All Valley Champ

The first round of episodes from Cobra Kai season 6 felt slow, with the story warming up for the show’s swan song. However, part 2 doesn’t hold anything back. There are epic fights, huge surprises, elements that feel like they are setting up a clear storyline, only to change it at the last moment in the best way possible. Every single episode in part 2 feels like the show has finally hit its stride, with the cast at the top of their game.

Unfortunately, that just makes it that much harder to say goodbye to these incredible characters who have grown and developed throughout the show. The Miyagi-Do kids have never faced a tougher challenge, and with their team in disarray, it feels like nothing can help them recover. Fortunately, the episodes take these heroes on a journey and help them find their own path in a way that is meaningful and satisfying.

And when all is said and done, Cobra Kai season 6, part 2 delivers a final blow that will have you begging to see what happens next. Despite being the middle of this final chapter, it has delivered so much excellence ahead of Cobra Kai season 6, part 3, but it also stands out as some of the best episodes and moments of the show to date, just in time for the show to wrap up for good.

Set decades after the events of the Karate Kid franchise, Cobra Kai shifts gears and puts viewers into the perspective of a former rival/antagonist, Johnny Lawrence.
