Cineworld has announced it is closing another six cinemas in the coming weeks – see the full list below.
The cinema chain has had a difficult year, with the latest closures coming just months after they confirmed that five other sites were to shut down.
It was reported by Sky News in July that Cineworld is looking to eventually close up to a quarter of its 100 UK cinemas in total as it renegotiates rental agreements on around 50 sites.
Describing the decisions as a “restructuring plan to provide our company with a strong platform to return our business to profitability”, they had previously confirmed that the Glasgow Parkhead, Bedford, Loughborough, Yate and Swindon Regent Circus cinemas would be closing their doors.

Weymouth will close on December 30, while the other five cinemas will shut their doors on January 19.
The Hinckley branch in Leicestershire had been part of the initial wave of closures announced in July, but that cinema has been granted a reprieve after a new property deal was agreed.
After the latest six closures, the chain will have 90 remaining cinemas around the UK.
Cineworld has said it has improved its financial position since winning court approval for its restructuring plan and has secured £40million in liquidity. It now states that it plans to invest £35million, including refurbishing existing cinemas.

This summer, Hugh Grant lamented the “unbearable” closure of a London Picturehouse cinema on Fulham Road after 94 years in operation. Picturehouse is the boutique cinema arm of Cineworld.
Grant, who lives close to the cinema, described it as “strangely unbearable” and went on to decry streaming platforms, which many argue are behind a drop in people attending the cinema.
