Good news for fans of the The Witcher developer CD Projekt Red, as the company’s CEO has told investors via a conference call that the company is not for sale and that they will remain an independent studio. There was speculation last week that Sony were looking to acquire the Polish studio, but that is not the case. It is not clear if the next Witcher games will come to the Nintendo Switch, but by the time they are finished the successor to the Nintendo’s current system will most likely be widely available.
“Nothing has changed on our end. I can repeat what we’ve been saying throughout the years – CD Projekt is not for sale. We want to remain independent. It’s very exciting to follow our own path, so it’s pure rumour.”
CEO, Adam Kicinski
