Carl Radke is under fire for his comments during a recent appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show.

After the Summer House star, 39, and his castmate, Kyle Cooke, 41, were featured in a segment in which they were hoisted upon rotating pedestals while wearing nothing more than a pair of heart-covered boxers, Carl was called out for discussing his desire to get married and have kids just months after his messy split from Lindsay Hubbard, 37.

After confirming to host Drew Barrymore, 48, that the breakup happened “about five, six months ago,” Carl was asked if he likes being single.

“I am learning how to navigate being single,” he replied. “I think for now it’s the best thing for me but I do want to get married and have a family at some point. But I think trying to heal and kind of take care of myself and focus on my career, my family, and my friend [Kyle].”

In response to Carl’s revelation, Drew applauded the reality star for having “self-awareness.”

“I try,” he noted.

Following the sharing of the clip, several online fans expressed outrage at Carl’s decision to speak of marriage and children so soon after calling off his and Lindsay’s wedding, many of whom suggested his comments were “awkward” and “uncomfortable.”

“[Carl] has self-awareness??? lol clearly Drew has never seen Summer House,” one person noted.

Others encouraged women to “run” and described the interview as “cringe.”

“Carl is a tool,” one person fumed.

Another suggested Carl wasn’t being honest with his response.

“I don’t believe any of them. They say what they think you want to hear,” they stated.

Someone else even suspected that Bravo was doing damage control on Carl’s behalf.

“Bravo publicists were like, ‘What can we do to make women like Carl?’” they wrote.

“This is repulsive. A guy that repeatedly cheated on his now wife and another who got engaged on a show to then breakup up with her and talk crap about her??? !!! Revolting,” stated another IG user.

Another noted, “I wish women would learn that Carl’s response while perhaps genuine reveals a lot about his own life choices to be single at nearly 40, not prepare to commit and marry. Guys like that don’t usually change a lot.”

Summer House season eight premieres on Thursday, February 22, at 9/8c on Bravo.
