Cardi B Channels Meme In NYX Cosmetics Super Bowl Commercial

Cardi B has been tapped for NYX Cosmetics’ first-ever Super Bowl ad spot and she recreates one of her own viral clips in it.

In a teaser previewed on Thursday (February 1), the Bronx superstar eyes the brand’s new Duck Plump lip gloss before saying, “That’s suspicious. That’s weird.”

The line is a callback to a 2020 Instagram Live Bardi did that instantly went viral because of the humorous delivery of the aforementioned comment.

The full commercial will debut during the Super Bowl on February 11.

Cardi B is keeping the checks coming in for 2024, and also recently unveiled a new flavor of her popular vodka-infused whipped cream line, Whipshots.

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, a new strawberry flavor has rolled out. Available in stores, it will also be available at the three Museum of Ice Cream locations in Austin, Chicago and New York City. Consisting of two desserts, a “Whipshake Milkshake” and “The Diamond,” the collab is running for a limited time.

But hopefully fans will also get some music from Cardi in 2024 – as it’s soon approaching six years since she released her first and only album, Invasion Of Privacy.

She did preview a new song on New Year’s Eve following her performance as part of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve broadcast.

In a fan-captured clip, Cardi can be seen energetically rapping along to the song from the side of the stage. “I said my opps linking up/ I’m like what? Give a fuck,” she spits on the track. “If you scared then just say that, hoe/ Enough is enough!”

While promoting her Megan Thee Stallion-assisted single “Bongos” in September, Cardi B addressed her long-awaited sophomore album and promised she’d put it out “soon.”

“You know what? I was indecisive but I was like, you know what? I should already start talking about the album because I’m going to be putting it out very soon,” she said on Hot 97’s Ebro In The Morning. “But it’s like I have to watch it because I always feel like somebody watching me — it’s going to come out when it’s going to come out.”

When asked whether the disc would drop before the close of the year, prior to Christmas, the “Drip” rapper continued to play coy revealing: “I can say that; it’s not going to come out this year.”

In a separate interview with DJ Whoo Kid, Cardi revealed that while she has a date and title in mind she’s “keeping it under wraps.”

“I’m kinda still working but I have a date in mind,” she began. Before addressing whether Beyoncé previously sending her flowers on her birthday was any indication she’d be on the album.

“It’s not coming out on my birthday. Matter fact, I don’t want nothing coming out in the month of October. October is my month. I don’t want no shit related to work in October, okay,” she concluded.
