Can You Play Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 Offline
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has a suite of fantastic options for those who prefer to play single-player, including a campaign mode that has been positively received by fans and critics alike, and the ability to play the multiplayer and zombies mode split-screen with a friend or alone with bots. However, while the majority of players will be able to enjoy all of this with a steady internet connection, some may prefer to play it offline.
Naturally, with Black Ops 6 becoming more popular than MW2 and MW3, it’s not hard to understand why all types of players would want to hop on and give it a try. However, with the gaming industry moving more towards online gaming, many may be concerned that Black Ops 6 has ditched its offline content. After all, both MW2 and MW3 had poor offline offerings.
You Can’t Play Black Ops 6 Offline
Absolutely No Modes Are Playable In Offline Mode
It is impossible to play any of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 offline, including the single-player campaign and private matches against bots or a friend. Players will need a constant internet connection in order to enjoy any of Black Ops 6 content. Zombies, the multiplayer mode, and the aforementioned campaign all need an internet connection. This was explained on the Activision Support page for the game, which states:
You’ll need a continuous internet connection to play any game mode, including Campaign. If you’re on a console, Campaign can be played without a premium subscription service such as Game Pass Core or PlayStation Plus.
However, crucially, while the campaign does not require a PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass Core subscription to be played, all the other modes do, even if playing solo against bots. So, if someone wants to hop into a split-screen match with their friend and play against bots – something that has been a feature of Call of Duty games for a long time – they’ll need a PlayStation Plus or Game Pass Core subscription if playing on console. It’s easily one of the worst features of Black Ops 6, but Activision has its reasons.
Why Black Ops 6 Requires An Internet Connection
It Helps Improve Visuals
According to the Activision Support page, the reason behind requiring a constant internet connection to play any of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s modes, including the single-player campaign, is “to deliver the highest-quality visuals while also reducing the game’s overall storage space on your hard drive.” Essentially, Black Ops 6 uses texture streaming, which allows the game to stream the high-fidelity visuals rather than download all of it directly to a player’s PC or console. It is intended to reduce file size, which makes sense considering COD’s file sizes have gotten out of hand lately.

Do You Need To Play The Other Black Ops Games To Play Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6?
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is the seventh game in the Black Ops subseries, which may make some players worry they have to play all the others.
So, in order for the game to constantly stream these high-quality textures and essentially run the game at all, it needs to be connected to the internet. It’s not an ideal situation for those with poor internet connections, and it does alienate those who would rather play offline or who can’t afford a premium subscription service. However, it is the route that Activision has taken in order to fix the problem of COD games having enormous file sizes, even if it comes at the cost of Black Ops 6 having absolutely no offline content.
