BTS’ J-Hope Doc ‘Hope On The Street’ Premiere Date Announced

BTS‘ J-Hope will be launching his docuseries, Hope on the Street, from March 28 on Prime Video, with episodes released weekly every Thursday and Friday.

Produced by HYBE and set for release in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide, Hope on the Street is a six-episode docuseries that highlights J-Hope’s career and love for dancing as he begins a new journey in his 12th year since debut, returning to his early days as a dancer. The documentary will also feature songs from J-Hope’s special album Hope on the Street Vol. 1, which will be launched on March 29 at 1pm, Korea time.

The docu-series follows J-Hope and his former instructor, the popping champion Boogaloo Kin, as they explore the streets of Osaka, Seoul, Paris, New York, and Gwangju, meeting inspiring street dancers along the way.

J-Hope is currently completing his mandatory military service, which lasts 18 months. He began in April 2023. He and the other BTS band members plan to reconvene in 2025 when their army training is over.

Hope on the Street is the latest BTS doc hitting the market. The band is already in business with Prime Video on concert film Yet to Come and has a wide-ranging deal with Disney that has seen them work up the likes of behind-the-scenes doc BTS Monuments: Beyond The Star, which launches this year.

After cutting back on the number of titles produced in Southeast Asia, streamers such as Prime Video and Disney+ have focused their efforts on developing original titles primarily in Korea. Last month, we reported Prime Video was cutting the originals team in Singapore to leave a unit focused on content acquisition and rolling out the streamer’s U.S. fare.
