A public notice has been issued announcing the council’s intention to appropriate Rockhills and Sydenham Villas for housing development.
These plans align with planning permissions DC/20/00325/OUT and DC/24/00478/DET.
The two sites, located on Thicket Road, are outlined in red on the plans available for inspection online.
Residents and interested parties will have until Tuesday, February 18, at 5pm to make their views known to the council.
Crystal Palace Park is a historic park in south east London, known for its iconic dinosaur sculptures, sprawling green spaces, and remnants of the original Crystal Palace, which was destroyed by fire in 1936.
The park features lakes, a maze, a skatepark, and hosts events, making it a popular spot for leisure and culture.
The council’s planning notice states: “Notice is hereby given under Section 122(2A) Local Government Act 1972 and Section 203 Housing and Planning Act 2016, that the London Borough of Bromley (Council) intends to appropriate Rockhills, Crystal Palace Park, Thicket Road, London SE19 1UF and Sydenham Villas, Crystal Palace Park, Thicket Road, London SE22 6UF (Property) for the development of housing.
“This is in accordance with planning permission DC/20/00325/OUT and DC/24/00478/DET.
“The Property is shown for the purpose of identification edged in red on the plans below and are available for inspection online at: www.crystalpalaceparkregenerationplan.com”
Representations can be addressed to the Head of Regeneration and sent via email to cppregeneration@bromley.gov.uk, quoting ‘Crystal Palace Park Appropriation.’
