Brittany Cartwright Refutes Jax’s Claim of Suffering Stroke

Brittany Cartwright confirmed on Thursday’s episode of her podcast that she did not suffer a stroke as her husband, Jax Taylor, claimed on a recent episode of House of Villains.

After Jax, 44, told co-star Tanisha Thomas, 38, that Brittany, 34, suffered a “small stroke” when he was away filming, the Vanderpump Rules alum told listeners that a stroke was ruled out as she also offered an update on her condition and admitted that Jax often forgets that he’s on reality television.

“There’s a lot of stuff going around in the media, and I’m getting tagged in a bunch of things because of what you had said on House of Villains, Jax, so I would like for you to tell everybody what went down and I will tell everybody the story of what happened to me,” Brittany began on the December 28 episode of When Reality Hits With Jax and Brittany, via Bravo Snark Side on Instagram.

“Well … At the end of the show, after, literally, I’m not gonna lie, I want to say 60 seconds after I was voted off, I got handed a phone and it was manager saying, ‘I didn’t want to call you because I know your filming right now but I feel like it’s necessary. Brittany’s in the hospital. She collapsed,’” Jax explained, noting that the call left him in a panic.

“We didn’t know what it was, the doctors didn’t really know what it was. But it was stroke-like symptoms, stroke-like symptoms. So I just assumed it was a stroke,” he continued as Brittany called him out for saying something “without being sure of the facts.”

“I obviously didn’t mean it, but it’s what it resembles. So I apologize,” Jax concluded.

According to Brittany, she’s been flooded with comments from concerned fans wanting to know if she’s okay after her health scare.

“This was terrifying for me. My whole right side of my body went completely numb. I couldn’t even hold my cell phone up. I could barely walk. I fell and like, bruised up my whole side because my right leg gave out so it was actually very, very scary,” she revealed. “I had Cruz at the house and I was by myself because obviously, Jax was filming House of Villains.”

“I’m completely fine now. I want to make that clear. But it was such a scary situation,” she added.

Looking back on the incident, Brittany said her friend Janet came to get her and took her to the hospital. Then, as Kristen Doute, 40, met them there and helped Janet take Cruz home, Brittany underwent a series of MRIs and CAT scans.

“I was in those tubes for like two hours, three hours, I ended up having to go back to the hospital for more tests so it was like an ongoing thing,” she explained. “They never really knew exactly what was wrong with me. It could’ve been stress-induced. It could’ve been a pinched nerve in my spine. I have no idea, but I haven’t felt that sensation since, and of course, I was keeping up with the doctors.”

“But it was ruled out,” she continued of a potential stroke. “My brain scan came back clean.”

Meanwhile, Jax reasoned, “I looked up stroke, and those were all the symptoms of a stroke.”

“I think you forget that you’re on reality TV sometimes and the whole world is gonna see this,” Brittany replied.

Vanderpump Rules season 11 premieres on Tuesday, January 30, at 8/7c on Bravo.
