Boys basketball: Slinger wins conference title

The Slinger boys basketball team won sole possession of the North Shore Conference title with a 66-43 win over West Bend West on Feb. 21. Slinger has a 16-1 conference record with one regular season game remaining (against Slinger Feb. 27) and a 21-2 overall mark. West was fifth in the conference with an 8-9 conference record and a 13-9 overall mark.

In other games played on Feb. 21:

Kettle Moraine Lutheran (KML) defeated Winneconne, 85-66. Afterward, KML was second in the East Central Conference with a 9-2 conference record and a 14-9 overall mark. KML will face conference leader Waupun on Feb. 27, with a win giving KML a share of the conference title.

Germantown lost to Brookfield East, 61-52. Germantown remained in fourth place in the Greater Metro Conference with a 10-6 conference record and a 14-9 overall mark.

Sussex Hamilton defeated Menomonee Falls, 67-65. Afterward, Falls was fifth in the Greater Metro with an 8-7 conference record and a 12-11 overall mark. Hamilton improved to 6-9 in conference (seventh place) and 9-13 overall.

Hartford defeated West Bend East on Feb. 21, 73-59. Hartford improved 4-12 in the North Shore Conference (seventh place) and 9-14 overall.
