Bloodborne Kart Is Releasing Soon With A New, Legally Distinct Name

After an intervention from Sony, the Bloodborne Kart fan game is finally back and ready to release with a new name–Nightmare Kart. The now legally distinct kart game is due to release on Steam and Itch.io for free on May 31.

While originally announced as an April Fools’ joke from Bloodborne PSX demake creator Lillith.zip, Nightmare Kart ended up being turned into a real project, which has now become its own original IP after Sony took issue with the fan project using Bloodborne’s branding.

With redesigned and rebranded characters, the kart racer retains the dark atmosphere that made the project so appealing to begin with–not to mention an amazing soundtrack. The free game will launch with 20 racers and 16 maps, with two game modes including a campaign with boss fights, and a VS battle mode.

Now that the new name has officially been announced, Lilith will return to posting threads about the game’s development on Twitter, this time digging into the process of rebranding all the Bloodborne-specific characters and items in the game.

While Nightmare Kart is being released for free, Lilith has said fans can support its development costs on Patreon, or by tipping on the Itch.io page once the game is released.
