Bindi Irwin announces new children’s book You are a Wildlife Warrior

Bindi Irwin has announced her latest career move, venturing into children’s book writing with a brand new release.

Taking to Instagram, the conservationist called today “one of the very best days of my entire life” as she announced the release of her new children’s book You Are a Wildlife Warrior.

The book will take readers on a journey with Bindi and her “wonderful daughter Grace“ through their “home”, Australia Zoo, as well as “the conservation work we do all over the world,” she shared.

“I hope this book will inspire the next generation to love, respect and protect our natural world… it means the world to share our journey with you!”

The video is intercut with glimpses of the illustrations – done by Ramona Kaulitzki – as well as baby Grace playing with lemurs, red pandas, and giraffes.

“This generation of children holds the key to a brighter future for our planet, and I hope my book inspires them to appreciate the environment and strive to keep our world a safe and happy place for all creatures,” Irwin told People about the new book.

“Sharing my book with Grace, and now the world, is one of the biggest and most meaningful moments of my entire life.”

The book will be released in the US and Australia on February 4, 2025 – though it is available for pre-order now.

Bindi’s family congratulated her on her new venture.

“I am tremendously proud of you, @bindisueirwin,” wrote her mother Terri Irwin in a comment on her post.

“You are a wonderful mama and a true Wildlife Warrior! Your book is beautiful and brilliant. A fantastic, fun story for everyone!”

“Congratulations❤️ So happy this day is finally here after all your hard work. So exciting!” wrote her husband and Grace’s father, Chandler Powell.

This is not the first time Bindi has authored a book. As a child she wrote her series Bindi Wildlife Adventures which featured 20 installments, as well as six Bindi Behind the Scenes books.

More recently she wrote the foreword for Goodnight Stories For Rebel Girls and wrote a book in celebration of Australia Zoo’s 50th birthday, titled Creating a Conservation Legacy.
