The first trailer has been released for the film Waltzing with Brando, which stars Billy Zane as Marlon Brando. As you’ll see, Zane completely transforms into the legendary actor.
The film is based on the memoir by the actor’s architect, Bernard Judge. in the film, Brando recruits the Los Angeles architect (Jon Heder) to build the world’s first ecologically perfect retreat on a small, uninhabited island in Tahiti.
The story follows Brando “as he filmed Mutiny on the Bounty and bought a tiny and uninhabitable island in Tahiti. His intent was to escape his hectic Hollywood lifestyle and show the world the path to sustainability.
The film will be set between 1969 and 1974, “a period during which Brando was preparing to star in The Godfather and Last Tango in Paris.
“The action will show Brando’s interaction with Judge as they spend time together on the island and work up plans for a paradise getaway far from the public glare at a time when the actor was one of the most famous people on the planet.”
The movie is written and directed by Bill Fishman, who previously worked with Zane on the 1993 Western Posse. The cast also includes Camille Razat, Richard Dreyfuss, Alaina Huffman, Tia Carrere, and James Jagger.
Waltzing with Brando is set to hit theaters in the United States in 2025.
