Bibb Commissioner Bill Howell announces plans for reelection

MACON, Ga. — Bibb County Commissioner Bill Howell announced he is running for reelection, according to a post on Facebook.

Howell, who represents District 7, made the post on his Macon-Bibb Suburban South Facebook Page on Jan. 15.

In his post, he evoked his original campaign goals when he first ran for the Bibb County Commission.

He says his focus was on stopping property tax hikes, addressing deputy pay and addressing stormwater flooding in South Bibb, he said. In his post, he touted the progress they’ve made, saying they’ve addressed “all three” issues.

However, he highlighted one area he was particularly excited about the improvements they’ve made during his four years on the commission.

“I am most proud of the improvements we have made with the flooding issues,” Howell said. “Yes, we are just now seeing progress in long term solutions. However, just cleaning the literally miles of ditches, removing 100s of ton of debris and overseeing new development, we have seen a marked improvement in areas that flood.”

Then, he points to May 21, when voters will go to the polls and vote.

In a video on his personal Facebook page, Howell’s grandson offered a testimonial of his grandfather.

“Pops loves two things: this old car and your vote May 21,” his grandson said sitting in an old black car.
