Beauty and Brutality Collide in Marshmello and SVDDEN DEATH's New Single, "Ceremony"

Beauty and brutality collide in “Ceremony,” a brand-new single released today by Marshmello and SVDDEN DEATH.

“Ceremony” arrives after the duo announced their momentous co-headlining “MELLODEATH” tour, which is scheduled to kick off on April 4th at Colorado’s iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Fans can expect a lot more music in the months ahead, according to SVDDEN DEATH, who said the new collaboration is the “first of many” they have in the works.

The song’s intro slithers in with spine-tingling choral swells, which quickly mutate into a contorted bridge that bubbles up like a pool of toxic waste. Mello and SVDDEN DEATH then descend into darkness as their eerie melodies are swallowed whole by a snarling dubstep drop characterized by an angry hive of distorted synths.

But the haunting undertone of the track’s intro lingers, its ghostly tendrils woven into the fabric of the drop’s madness. It’s the cathartic scream after struggling to hold back tears—a love letter to dubstep written in the language of sonic warfare.
