Bear Grylls celebrates son Marmaduke’s 18th birthday – and the teenager towers over his famous dad

Bear Grylls is celebrating his son Marmaduke’s 18th birthday, leaving fans shocked at how tall he is. 

The TV host took to Instagram to pay tribute to his second-eldest son and marked the important milestone.

“18 today!” Grylls, 49, began his caption, accompanied by some photos of Maraduke’s graduation.

“We love you so much Marmaduke… keep shining bright! ❤️,” the post concluded. 

The photos show Grylls, his wife Shara Grylls and Marmaduke smiling for the camera with his son looking all grown up.

Fans quickly noted how tall the 18-year-old is, with the post garnering over one thousand comments. 

“Definitely outgrew that windbreaker I gave him,” skier JT Holmes jokes.

“I think your son is the real bear here 💀 damn so tall.” another wrote. 

In May 2023, the father-of-three discussed his parenting style with The Times, mentioning he has a strict screen time policy for his children.

“Social media can be brilliant, it really can,” he said.

“The brilliant side of it is that it connects us, and you can learn stuff so fast, and you can have fun, and it’s brilliant entertainment.”

“You’ll have to police your own life,” Grylls added. “That might be eating healthy, or going to the gym, or if somebody treats you badly in a relationship then having some boundaries and saying: ‘No – I’m not going to let you.’ You’ve got to police yourself with social media as well.”
