The new brand of Star Wars comics is now entering its post-Return of the Jedi era with STAR WARS: BATTLE OF JAKKU – INSURGENCY RISING. Written by Alex Segura and drawn by a trio of talents Leonard Kirk, Stefano Raffaele, and Jethro Morales, this upcoming series will be the first of three limited runs focused on the final moments of the galactic civil war.
“It’s an unbelievable honor to be able to tell this lost story of Star Wars history, alongside so many amazing artists, in the pages of the three BATTLE OF JAKKU limited series,” Segura said. “Our story will be epic in scope – involving all the major characters you love, plus some new, exciting additions to the mythos. Earlier this month, it was announced that Marvel’s Star Wars comic line would be concluding its post-The Empire Strikes Back storytelling this September in Star Wars #50 and Star Wars: Darth Vader #50.
