Batman’s Daughter with Catwoman Leaves Gotham Forever to Join DC’s Most Unexpected Team
Warning: Contains Spoilers for Justice Society of America #11!Batman and Catwoman’s daughter from the future, Huntress, finally gets a happy ending – in the Justice Society of America of the 31st century. The beauty of DC Comics is how it gives space to the by-products of all its shifting timelines and continuity changes. Even characters that have been retconned come back in spectacular ways, and characters that technically never have (or should) exist get their time to shine.
This is just the case with the time-displaced Helena Wayne. Time is a major theme in Justice Society of America, especially in issue #11 by Geoff Johns and Marco Santucci, with characters jumping back in time, or from broken timelines, or even hopping around trying to find a place to land where they won’t be erased from continuity. In the penultimate issue of this celebrated series, time-jumper Helena Wayne finally finds a place to land.
Huntress finds a home in the far, far future in a new roster of the Justice Society of America, with some surprising faces beside her as the heroes of tomorrow honor the oldest hero team in DC history.
Huntress Helena Wayne Remains a Woman Out of Time
Batman’s Future Daughter Couldn’t Stay in Gotham
Helena Wayne’s Huntress was just recently reintroduced to DC as she helped the Justice Society of America fix time – only to displace herself from her own reality. Since then, she’s been a major player of the newest version of this old team, but she’s still been seeking a place to land and feel safe. She tried going to Gotham, to be with her father and mother, Batman and Catwoman, but Gotham of the past wasn’t meant for her, especially considering her future no longer exists.
Huntress makes a sacrifice that still gives her a happy ending.
Helena Wayne has no home, especially considering Batman exiled her from Gotham to preserve the timeline. So Huntress makes a sacrifice that still gives her a happy ending: she decides to go into the far future, the 31st Century, past her own time, where she will not cause any further incursions. And beside her are the friends she made along the way in the newest iteration of the JSA. Huntress is no longer adrift in time – she’s found her new home where she belongs.

Huntress Joins the Heroes of the 31st Century
This new JSA roster has some interesting faces of other displaced beings, like a version of Solomon Grundy, a Doctor Fate variant, and DC’s most powerful magic user: a young Mordru trying to change his future to keep himself from turning into one of DC’s greatest villains. They are all time misfits, like Huntress, and that’s exactly why she belongs there. This is the Justice Society of America of the 31st Century, and with them, Huntress has found a home – and a future of her own – away from her parents, Batman and Catwoman.
