This internal studio has been actively engaged in commissioned projects with Nintendo for several years, contributing to the development of iconic titles such as Super Smash Bros for 3DS & Wii U, Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Mario Kart 8, Mario Kart Deluxe, Mario Kart Tour, Arms, and Mario Sports Superstars.

The newly formalized Studio 2 & Studio S is described as a team of professionals specializing in contracted development projects. The studio has played a crucial role in the creation of world-class titles, emphasizing its commitment to maintaining high quality in game development. The team, consisting of 152 employees, includes a notable 32% of new graduates, showcasing a blend of experienced professionals and fresh talent.
