The crash happened around 1:30 p.m., according to Georgia 511.
MACON, Ga. — All lanes are closed on I-16 East due to a tractor trailer crash, according to Georgia 511.
The tractor trailer was turned over and blocked all lanes on the interstate between the downtown Macon exit and the Ocmulgee East Boulevard exit.
Georgia Department of Transportation’s website 511 says the accident happened around 1:30 p.m. and the current estimate according to the website is the lanes will reopen around 3 p.m. but it is subject to change.
Bibb County coroner Leon Jones has confirmed there is a fatality involved in the crash but did not have any additional details on the crash. He said there may have been a medical emergency that caused the accident and fatality.
