All American – I Do Part 2

The season finale of All American was a mix of heartfelt moments and over-the-top corniness, but it delivered a satisfying conclusion for Spelivia fans. Spencer and Olivia finally tied the knot, overcoming last-minute wedding venue disasters and a tight timeline. The couple’s journey to their wedding day was filled with obstacles, but Spencer’s determination and the support of their friends made the big day happen against all odds.

In classic All American style, the episode was packed with drama. Olivia’s anxiety over the ruined wedding venue was palpable, but Spencer’s unyielding resolve kept the day on track. The Vortex pitched in to help, leading to some humorous moments, especially with Jordan’s lighthearted jokes amidst the chaos.

The venue crisis was solved in a sentimental twist, with Spencer deciding on a wedding at Crenshaw, utilizing decorations from a local production of Midsummer Night’s Dream. This tied in the community’s involvement and the significance of Crenshaw in their lives. Olivia’s emotional breakdowns were countered by the support of her family, highlighting the episode’s theme of unity and perseverance.

Coop’s subplot added another layer to the finale, as she grappled with her law school acceptances and chose to prioritize helping Spencer. This reinforced the deep bonds between the characters, culminating in a touching wedding ceremony in the backyard at Spencer’s Crenshaw home.

The wedding itself was a highlight, with heartfelt vows and a reception that seemed almost too good to be true, yet was perfect for fans of the show. The community’s effort to create a dream wedding in such a short time was a bit unbelievable but fit the show’s feel-good narrative. Spencer’s thank you to his influential mentors and Jordan’s speech to his sister were poignant moments that added depth to the celebration. Coop and Spencer’s touching moment on the swings where they spent many moments as kids, was also a highlight. It was bittersweet to realize that this was their final on-screen moment together, but it was undeniably perfect.

As the episode closed, there were significant changes on the horizon. Laura gifted her home to Jordan and Layla, hinting at new beginnings. A mysterious revelation about Billy’s past and a mysterious brother that no one knew about, opened the door for future storylines, hopefully keeping current viewers invested enough to tune in next season.

Despite the corniness, the finale was a fitting send-off for Daniel Ezra’s character, Spencer. It honoured his journey and the impact of Crenshaw on his life. The future of All American without its main character remains uncertain, but this finale provided a hopeful note for fans. As the show moves forward, it will need to find new ways to captivate its audience and keep the spirit of Spencer’s story alive.
