Alicia Vikander and husband Michael Fassbender secretly welcome baby number two

Alicia Vikander has shared some private family news with fans this week – the actress revealed she secretly welcomed her second child with her actor husband Michael Fassbender.

Vikander, 35, made the admission during a joint interview with her Hope co-star Taylor Russell in the latest edition of Elle UK.

The star, who is known for films including Firebrand and The Danish Girl, spoke about returning to work after welcoming their second child.

“When I met you in Korea, you had literally just had your second baby, and the stuff we had to do in the film was so physical,” Russell said to Vikander about their time on set together.

Vikander admitted: “All women have such different experiences, and going through it a second time was definitely harder for me.”

Saying she has “so much admiration” for women, she added: “Going through those nine months is like a marathon, so it does help if you’re strong going into it.”

In 2021, the pair, who married in 2017, welcomed a son.

She confirmed the news of the birth with People at the time, saying: ”I now have a whole new understanding of life in general.”

“That’s pretty beautiful, and obviously will give a lot to any of my work in the future.”

She explained her life had changed since welcoming a baby: “I’m enjoying finding it out in the moment right now, more than anything.”

The Hollywood star couple, who are notoriously private, started dating in 2014 after meeting on the set of The Light Between Oceans.

She previously told The Sunday Times that the pair experienced a miscarriage on their journey to parenthood.
