Afternoon shooting in Fort Valley sends man to hospital, police chief says

He says the shooting happened around 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, per the report.

FORT VALLEY, Ga. — A man was shot at an apartment complex in Fort Valley on Thursday night, according to a report from Fort Valley Police Chief DJ Flores.

Flores says that a man was shot at the Magnolia Terrace Apartments on the 700 block of Green Street in Fort Valley around 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Officers responded, and the victim – a man in his early 30’s – was transported to the Peach County Hospital, according to the report.

Police are currently investigating the case, Flores says, and they have identified a person of interest in the shooting. They cannot release any details about the person of interest yet, as they are still working to gather information.

“(Police are) trying to confirm witness statements,” Flores said.
