He says it happened around 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday
MACON, Ga. — A woman is dead after a hit and run in South Macon, according to Bibb County Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley.
Miley says the woman, who has not been identified yet, was walking on the 3800 block of Pio Nono Avenue in front of Roses Discount Store when she was struck by a car.
Miley says emergency services received the call around 10:35, and arrived at the scene to treat her. Miley pronounced her dead at 11:05.
“Right now, she’s Jane Doe,” Miley said. “We’ve still got to notify the next of kin, but we don’t know – right now, we don’t know who she is.”
Bibb County officials are still working to identify the victim, and will not release her identity until the next of kin is notified.
