‘Adventure of a lifetime’

After singing Champagne Problems – and receiving the requisite deafening applause afterwards – Swift took a moment to pay tribute to her fans, band and crew.

“This tour has been the adventure of a lifetime, and I speak on behalf of my band, my crew, who all left their families and spent time away from everything they know and love and performed when they were sick, when anything was going on in their lives, they made sure this show happened for you,” she said.

“We will never forget you giving us that moment.”

Celebrity appearances

The Eras Tour has been a star-studded affair all along, and the final performance was no different.

Aubrey Plaza, Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder and The Office’s Jenna Fischer were spotted in the stands, enjoying some sweet interactions with fans.

…and one notable absence

There’s one famous face who wasn’t in the crowd: Swift’s boyfriend, NFL star Travis Kelce.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end has attended several Eras Tour shows across various countries, so fans might have expected to see him on the final night, too.

However, he had a good excuse: Swift’s show coincided with the Chiefs’ game against Los Angeles Chargers, in Kansas City. (They won.)

Swift did include a nod to Kelce in the show, using the adapted lyrics “karma is the guy on the Chiefs, coming straight home to me” in Karma, which she’s done during his previous appearances at shows.

The best social reactions

As is to be expected, X, TikTok and other social platforms were alight with fans reacting to the final show as they followed livestreams online.

Kam’s final bridge

One of the funnest details of the Eras shows is when Swift’s dancer Kam Saunders adapts the spoken bridge of We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together for each tour location.

Along the way, Kam has often substituted the line “like, ever” with a local reference or catchphrase; in Australia, it ranged from “yeah, nah” to “bugger off”, “rack off, mate” and, at the pinnacle, “tell him he’s dreamin'” – a classic quote from The Castle.

But for the last show in Vancouver, Kam played it a little straighter, delivering a simple: “For the last time, NO!”

Gracie Abrams’ emotional farewell

Swift’s support act Gracie Abrams was just as emotional as any fan watching on as she opened the final performance.

Before she began singing, the Close To You singer pulled out a piece of paper and read out a speech, admitting she was “not ready for it to be over”.

“Like all of you, I [was] brought up with Taylor’s songs,” Abrams began.

“Magically, needing a moment in my life that I didn’t think anyone else could understand or know or ached or yearned or loved or lost, and yet she did. How are we supposed to have the words for it? We don’t yet.

“But I do know that we have each other, thanks to Taylor, her music, her generosity, her curiosity, her wild and unparalleled pen, her super power of seeing into our lives and creating soundtracks for every single formative moment we’ve had and that we will have.”

The last surprise songs

It’s the question fans deliberate over ahead of each shows: what song will Swift sing during her beloved acoustic section?

With these being the final surprise songs of the tour, there was plenty of speculation and expectation as Swift appeared on stage in a blue dress.

For the guitar section, Swift dug deep into the archives with A Place In This World, mashing it with New Romantics.

Sitting at the piano, she began with Long Live – adapting the lyrics to be “it was the end of an era but the start of an age” instead of “the end of a decade” – and mashing it with New Year’s Day and The Manuscript.

The six songs Swift didn’t sing on tour

Throughout the Eras Tour, fans have been diligently documenting which of Swift’s songs have and haven’t been played.

In the end, there were six that didn’t get a turn on stage: That’s When, Bye Bye Baby, Girl At Home, Ronan, Forever Winter and Soon You’ll Get Better.
