Dave Filoni Offers Update on AHSOKA Season 2; Confirms He’s the Only Writer Working on It — GeekTyrant
Ahsoka Season 2 is currently in development with Dave Filoni leading the charge on the project. He recently offered an update on how work is going on that and he confirms that he’s the only writer working on it.
Filoni told Extra TV: “I’m so well into that as well… I’ve been writing it, and I’m still the single writer on it, and so I’ve been enjoying doing that, but it’s a challenge, of course, and working some of these arcs through has been a challenge and making sure it’s all going to come out in a way that I think is exciting for fans.
“I know that they’re interested in where some of the things I developed in season 1. I’m pretty happy with it… Love working with Rosario [Dawson], so I can’t wait to get back to that.”
It’s good to hear that Filoni is having a good time writing Season 2, but I do wish that he would’ve brought on some of his writers from The Clone Wars, Rebels, and The Bad Batch to help him.
The writing of the first season of Ahsoka wasn’t quite up to the quality of what those animated shows delivered, and I think the Star Wars series could be strengthened with the help of those writers instead of Filoni doing it himself.
Ahsoka is set after the fall of the Empire, and “follows the former Jedi knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.” Season 2 will continue that journey and with Grand Admiral Thrawn, Baylan Skoll, and Shin Hati on the loose.
Ashoka Season 1 ended with Grand Admiral Thrawn escaping from Peridea, though Ezra Bridger managed to stow away on the Imperial’s ship.
Meanwhile, Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren were both left stranded on Peridea, but an appearance from Anakin Skywalker’s Force ghost suggested they are where they are supposed to be.
The only tease we have about the plot of Season 2 came from some concept art drawn by Filoni, which shows Ahsoka and Sabine on the same statue Baylan Skoll discovered in the finale. This is a tease that the World Between Worlds will play a big part of the story as it continues.
Ahosoka also stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, the late Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth, David Tennant as Huyang, Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn, and Eman Esfandi appearing as Ezra Bridger.
