2024 Sounds Like The Best Year Yet For Pedro Pascal Movies

Summary

  • Pedro Pascal’s movie career is set to soar in 2024 with three exciting film roles, including “Freaky Tales,” “Drive-Away Dolls,” and “Gladiator 2.”
  • He has already been named IMDb’s Top Star of 2023 and his upcoming movies will further solidify his legacy in Hollywood.

Pedro Pascal has done some great movie roles, but 2024 is shaping up to be the best year of his career so far when it comes to films. The Chilean-born actor has played major characters in some of the best TV shows of recent years, such as Oberyn Martell in HBO’s Game of Thrones, Javier Peña in Neflix’s Narcos, the titular character in Disney+ series The Mandalorian, and Joel Miller in HBO’s The Last of Us. However, next year is looking very interesting for Pedro Pascal in terms of theatrical releases too.

Pedro Pascal’s movie career is already strong, and, although not all of his movies have been as big as his TV series, he has had some good film roles. This includes Strange Way of Life, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, If Beale Street Could Talk, and Prospect, all with good reviews from the critics and audience. 2023 was a great year for Pedro Pascal, including but not limited to The Mandalorian and The Last of Us releasing episodes close to each other, but his 2024 could be even better and expand his massive success to the big screen too.

Pedro Pascal Has 3 Exciting Movies Releasing In 2024

Freaky Tales, Drive-Away Dolls, Gladiator 2

Pedro Pascal was named IMBb’s Top Star of 2023, and his 2024 movie roles will continue to cement his legacy in Hollywood. On January 18, he will star in Freaky Tales, which follows four interconnected stories that happened in 1987 in Oakland, CA. Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, Pascal plays an undisclosed role. Shortly after, Pascal will be in Ethan Coen’s Drive-Away Dolls, released on February 23. Coen’s first solo venture is a road trip film mixed with crime and comedy, led by Margaret Qualley and Geraldine Viswanathan, and also starring Matt Damon. Pascal’s character is unknown, but he is chased by criminals for a mysterious briefcase.

Possibly one of his most anticipated 2024 films is Ridley Scott’s Gladiator 2, a sequel to the 2000 blockbuster Gladiator. The film will focus on Paul Mescal’s Lucius Verus, Commodus’ nephew, and it will feature Pascal in what is currently an undisclosed role. Gladiator 2 premieres on November 22, 2024. Although the sequel will no longer star Russell Crowe, Denzel Washington’s character will be Crowe’s replacement. Depending on how the movie is received, Gladiator 2 could easily become one of Pedro Pascal’s highest-grossing movies.

Pedro Pascal’s Biggest Movie Role Yet Could Be Confirmed In 2024

Pedro Pascal is rumored to play Mr. Fantastic in the MCU

Besides Pedro Pascal’s three exciting roles, his best movie role yet is set to be announced next year, too. Marvel Cinematic Universe’s highly anticipated version of Fantastic Four reportedly cast Pedro Pascal in the film as Reed Richards, aka Mr. Fantastic. Although Marvel has yet to make an official announcement for the cast of Fantastic Four, which has a release date of May 2025, the highly-anticipated MCU film should begin filming anytime soon. Considering how important Reed Richards is to the Marvel Universe, Pascal would likely be one of the faces of the MCU for years to come.

On top of that, Pedro Pascal’s role in The Last of Us led to a Primetime Emmy Awards nomination. His appearance as a host on Saturday Night Live and his narration for Patagonia: Life on the Edge of the World both have led to nominations, making him the most-nominated Latino actor in a year in the Emmy Awards.
