2 men shot, in stable condition, in possible aggravated assault incident

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said the shooting happened around 11 a.m. on Saturday

MACON, Ga. — The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an aggravated assault incident in east Macon that resulted in two men shot on Saturday, according to a release.

The release said the sheriff’s office responded to an aggravated assault call around 11 a.m. on Saturday. When deputies arrived within the 1000 block of Fort Hill Street, the sheriff’s office said a 62-year-old and 45-year-old man had suffered gunshot wounds.

The release said that both men were transported to a local hospital and are in stable condition. Coroner Leon Jones said the 45-year-old is being treated in the ER and the 62-year-old man is currently in surgery.

The shooting is currently under investigation. 13WMAZ will update this story as more information becomes available.
